About the Gallery Exhibit:

This show presents documentation of MAKING OUR OWN SPACES during Summer 2016, focusing on activities of students and planners in the Buckeye and Moreland neighborhoods. The exhibit follows middle school and high school students as they transform ideas about improving their neighborhoods into physical structures. Images are arranged in sequences that tell the story of creating and building individual projects.
 
MAKING OUR OWN SPACES was started in 2015 by Kent State University's Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative to support CUDC's Design Diversity Initiative by raising awareness in African American and Latino communities about the range of design careers.
