The Cleveland State University Educational Leadership program enables participants to gain the conceptual, technical, and theoretical knowledge needed to assume the principalship or other entry-level administrative positions. Key areas explored in the program are curriculum, supervision, guidance, personnel administration, community relations, school management, and school law. In addition to a Master’s degree, a candidate for the professional principal license in Ohio must have two years of experience under a standard teaching or pupil services license and a passing score on the Ohio Assessment for Educators (OAE) Educational Leadership (015) examination.
Thirty (30) credit hours leads to the Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree and eligiblity for the principal license, upon passage of the OAE state exam.
Please contact Dr. Frederick Hampton if you are interested in the traditional track for the Masters in Educational Leadership.
The Center for Educational Leadership offers the Masters in Educational Leadership degree and licensure program (10 coures, 30 credits) as a hybrid, cohort-style program, delivered select Saturdays and online.
