National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) was held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. The CSU Office of Civic Engagement (OCE) was one of thousands of organizations around the country hosting NVRD activities. NVRD is a nonpartisan civic holiday that started in 2012. It celebrates our democracy and has registered 4.5 million people to vote. The OCE hosted several tables on campus and canvassed campus to help students get vote ready for the upcoming General Election on November 2, 2021. The OCE and NVRD partners, offered students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to register to vote, update their voter registrations, fill out a vote by mail application, find their polling location, and engage with local nonpartisan civic organizations including the Greater Cleveland League of Women Voters, NOVA, Campus Vote Project, Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, NAACP Greater Cleveland, and Alpha Kappa Alpha. Within three hours on NVRD, the OCE and its partners, collected 60 voter registrations and 14 vote by mail applications.
