Leadership Academy Capstone Project

The Center for Public & Nonprofit Management's Leadership Academy 28 organized their first "Super Senior Outreach" social at Cuyahoga County Metropolitan Housing Authority's (CMHA) Beachcrest Apartments on Thursday, May 9th. Each Leadership Academy cohort was tasked with creating, developing, and implementing a community engagement capstone. Leadership Academy 28 launched their "Super Senior Outreach" initiative earlier this year, collecting a variety of in-kind donations (toiletries, socks, blankets, nutritional drinks, candy, popcorn, etc.) for Cuyahoga County's senior citizens. The cohort identified CMHA's senior residents as the recipients.

The group not only facilitated their first drop-off day on May 9th, but organized a social for over 40 CMHA residents. The cohort played card games, solved puzzles, operated a green screen photo booth station, and did crafts with the seniors citizens in attendance. Additionally, Cleveland Public Library's TechCentral staff brought a 3D printer and a wooden key-chain maker for residents to experience some of the library's technology-focused services.
