Recognizing Levin’s Student Organization Leadership Teams

Cleveland State University’s (CSU) Levin College of Public Affairs and Education congratulates and thanks the following students for their dedicated effort beyond the classroom in on-campus student organization leadership roles. These students maximized the opportunity to be involved at CSU and are shining examples of future changemakers.

  • Cleveland State University (CSU) Student Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) is a student-run campus organization that aims to enrich the academic experience of students at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs.  CSU APA strives to facilitate the exchange of ideas and thoughtful discussions, foster professional development, and create a sense of community among all students at CSU. CSU APA Officers include President Robin Simon; Vice President Jackson Perisutti; Treasurer Hailey Zelinksky; Secretary Amal Elhachdani; and At-Large Officer Jack Ryan.
     
  • The Levin School Academic Council was created this year by Associate Professor of Urban Studies Dr. Brian Mikelbank. The Levin School Academic Council serves as a structured channel for student feedback and insights, and program-specific opportunities and concerns. It enhances communication between students and program leadership, fosters engagement, and helps identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. The Levin School Academic Council student leaders include Mya Cordova, Organizational Leadership; Sophia Laudato, Environmental Studies; Lauren Ledward Soares, Nonprofit Administration; Jackson Perisutti, Community Planning; Lincoln Short, Urban and Regional Studies/Regional Planning; and Katrina Weber, Environmental Studies.
     
  • The Cleveland State Vindicator is a student-run and contributor-based arts & culture magazine at CSU with the overarching themes of multi-culturalism, social justice, and artistic expression. The Cleveland State Vindicator student leadership team includes Editor-in-Chief Kirsten Kimbler; Managing Editor Lexi Pewitt; Copy Editor Alexander Giampietro; Art Director Mikayla Payne; Assistant Art Director Eddie Grier; Online Content Editor Andrew Paduano; Features Editor Sage Colón; Arts & Culture Editor Kylee Herrick; Arts & Culture Editor Ava Brennan; Social Issues Editor Helaina Rucinski; and Fashion & Wellness Editor Nicole Wloszek-Therens.
     
  • The student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is advised by Dr. Ed Horowitz, associate professor in the School of Communication. SPJ is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. The CSU student chapter of SPJ executive board includes President Kirsten Kimbler; Treasurer Ava K. Fuduric; Secretary Kateryna Kopylchak; and Vice President Grace Salter.
     
  • The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), the student chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), is advised by Dr. Beth Thomas, associate college lecturer in the School of Communication. PRSSA is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communication. The executive board for the PRSSA includes President Olivia Stein; Vice President Angelina Gergis; Secretary Gina Goggins; and Treasurer Nia Lugo.
     
  • The Cleveland Stater is a laboratory news site advised by Dr. John Jirik, associate college lecturer in the School of Communication, and produced by students enrolled in classes in the School of Communication within the CSU Levin College of Public Affairs and Education. The Cleveland Stater student leadership team includes Morgan Alten (Marketing Manager); Kirsten Kimbler (Community Editor); Ava Fuduric (Deputy Editor-in-Chief); Nicole Wloszek (Editor-in-Chief); and Kateryna Kopylchak (Media Manager).
