The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs is one of 97 higher educational institutions that have signed the White House Educators Commitment on Resilient Design. This important initiative recognizes that changing weather patterns pose a great deal of challenge to communities and people all over the world. The Commitment encourages higher educational institutions, schools of planning, architecture and policy to intentionally create the tools and best practices for resilient design. This is an important goal and aspiration.

Upon learning of this initiative, Dean Anglin said “To be asked to be part of this important goal and group of institutions is great, but it should push us to reflect on the question of resiliency in its many forms. As a region and world we face many natural and man-made challenges. This is a chance for the College to be a leader."
