White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council Partners with Center for Economic Development to Advance Research on Opportunity Zones
On August 2, Scott Turner, Executive Director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC), and Dr. John Fleming, US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development, visited the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs to discuss how they are leveraging their partnership with Levin's Center for Economic Development to examine social and economic benefits of Opportunity Zones. The Center for Economic Development is an official US Economic Development Administration (EDA) University Center and serves Northeast Ohio and the State of Ohio, conducting research and technical assistance in areas including entrepreneurship, advanced manufacturing, and economic inclusion.
In addition to representatives from the WHORC and the EDA, the event drew together representatives from federal agencies including Housing and Urban Development, the Environmental Protection Agency, and community partners throughout Northeast Ohio.
The US Economic Development Administration mentioned the Center for Economic Development in a tweet regarding their recent event held at the College in partnership with the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council. https://twitter.com/us_eda/status/1157377147293634561?s=11
