Samira Malone (MUPD ’20, BA ’17), Neighborhood Planning Project Coordinator for MidTown Cleveland, has been selected for Crain’s Cleveland Business’ “20 in their Twenties.” She was also invited to share her experiences in this special episode of Crain’s Landscape podcast. Malone received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies with a specialization in Urban and Regional Planning from Levin in 2017, followed by a Master of Urban Planning and Development in 2020. The article shares that during her time at Levin, she secured a public service fellowship with MidTown through the Cleveland Foundation, which ultimately led to a full-time job with the organization. Malone hopes to harness her passion for urban planning to “be part of creating a more direct pipeline for Black and brown students into [the field of] planning.”
