Great Lakes Counseling Psychology Conference: Call for Proposals
We are currently accepting proposals for the 2026 Great Lakes Regional Counseling Psychology Conference! The theme of the conference is Navigating Changing Times: Strengthening Our Voice and Fostering Resilience in Counseling Psychology. While we embrace all proposals relevant to this year’s theme, proposals that relate to the field of counseling psychology are also strongly encouraged. Presenters can participate in the following presentation modes: symposia, roundtable discussions, or poster presentations. Each author or presenter is limited to a maximum of two submissions for this conference.
Symposia
The requirement for symposium submission is a 250-word summary (maximum) of the symposia and a 100-word summary of each presentation in the symposium with a respective title. Symposia presentations will be allotted 50 minutes. Presenters should expect to arrive to their designated room 10 minutes before the start of their session.
Roundtable Discussions
The requirement for roundtable discussions is a 250-word summary (maximum) of relevant topical issues and plans for the discussion. A maximum of 30 minutes will be allotted for each discussion.
Poster Presentations
The requirement for poster presentations is a 250-word summary (maximum) that includes the rationale, method, data analysis, and results. Submissions for research in planning or progress must include the rationale and anticipated date of completion. Presenters should expect to arrive to their designated room 10 minutes before the start of their session.
The poster recommendation size is 36” (height) x 48” (wide). This is expected to fit on a 48” (height) x 72” (wide) poster board.
An abstract of 250 words must be included with each proposal. Each proposal will be examined by a blind review. Upon submission, the presenter will be notified online once the proposal is received. The deadline for submission is January 30th, 2026 (11:59 PM EST). Notification of acceptance or rejection will be emailed to the lead presenter by February 23, 2026. All co-authors must register for the conference. Due to limited space, the proposal committee reserves the right to change a proposal type. Complete the form below to submit your proposal.
