In Tribute 2016 Honoree Allan Krulak

Allan Krulak, a native Clevelander, has been at the intersection of business, philanthropy and politics for nearly a half-century. From his first position at Forest City Enterprises as a credit manager 44 years ago, when it was best-known for operating lumber stores and developing suburban parcels of land, to his position as vice president and corporate officer charged with administrating the company’s philanthropic efforts nationwide, as well as a wide variety of programs involving company employees, Allan’s participation in the civic life of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County has been of inestimable value.

Allan has served as a board member – and often fundraiser – for scores candidates for office, as well as organizations, including the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, the Ohio Lottery Commission, a combined 30 years on the Warrensville Heights and Pepper Pike City Councils, Cleveland Zoological Society, Ohio Home Builders, Ohio & Erie Canal and the Downtown Cleveland Alliance. But perhaps no organizations are as close to his heart as his 28-year service to Look Up To Cleveland, a program for high school juniors and seniors in Cuyahoga County, and his nearly-thirty years of service to Shoes & Clothes for Kids, helping kids across the economic spectrum.

Married to Judy Krulak, they live in Pepper Pike where Allan continues to serve on boards and engage in nature photography.
