Requirements to apply for project ELEVATE scholarship for TESOL endorsement
- Be a CMSD licensed teacher who has a core content licensure and currently teaching in that core content area.
- Have recommendation and nomination from Multilingual Multicultural Education Department.
- Priority for the scholarships is given to teachers who currently have ELs in their classrooms and do not have TESOL endorsement.
- There will be 5 cohorts of TESOL endorsement scholarships.
- CSU TESOL endorsement is 12 credits and 9 credits are covered by Project ELEVATE.
- In order to get the TESOL endorsement added to your teaching licensure, you also need to pass OAE 021. Any fees related to this exam are not covered by the scholarship.
- Students might be required to purchase a Taskstream account to submit select course assignments. This is a requirement for accreditation.
Scholarship application should include:
- Resume/CV - please include information about your current teaching placement and the teaching licensure you have.
- CSU application started (a screenshot).
- Name of the person from CMSD Multilingual Multicultural Education Department who is nominating you.
- A one-page statement that talks about your dedication EL dedication in CMSD.
Next steps:
- Send all scholarship application materials to e.andrei@csuohio.edu If qualified, you will be asked to do an interview.
- You need to apply to CSU and get admitted in the TESOL endorsement in order to get the scholarship.
- Sign up for classes.
- Scholarship will cover part of the tuition – see below.
- Student is responsible for textbooks and student fees
