Sharon Bliss is the Website and Social Engagement Specialist for the Levin College of Public Affairs & Education. She leads the planning, design, and continuous improvement of all college websites, ensuring they are accessible, user-friendly, visually cohesive, and aligned with institutional branding and communication goals. Sharon designs and develops custom web solutions, performs SEO and usability testing, and ensures compliance with web accessibility standards. She collaborates with faculty and staff to audit, create, and manage web content, with a strong focus on streamlining navigation and improving the user experience.

In addition to her web responsibilities, Sharon develops and executes social media strategies that reflect the breadth of the College’s academic, research, and community engagement efforts. She creates original content—both written and visual—for use across social media platforms, website pages, and digital publications, ensuring that messaging is clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate.

Previously, Sharon served as Manager of Community Services for Northern Ohio Data and Information Services (NODIS), where she managed demographic research projects, developed data tools, and built websites and databases to serve regional partners. She has also taught undergraduate courses in computer applications and cartography as an adjunct faculty member in the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs.

She holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Kent State University, as well as several certifications in Database Systems Technology and Web Design from Cleveland State University. Sharon brings experience from both private and public sector research environments, with a focus on data-driven communication and digital strategy.
