U.S. Economic Development Administration U.S. Department of CommerceThe Center for Economic Development in the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University conducts applied research and provides technical assistance as a think-tank for regional economic development. The Center’s areas of expertise include industrial analysis, performance of economic clusters, equity and inclusion, innovation, entrepreneurship, economic impact, and program evaluation. The Center’s researchers apply academic rigor to data-driven analyses and have a well-earned reputation for conducting unbiased, sound, and policy-relevant studies.

US Economic Development Administration University Center

Since 1985, the Center has been designated a US Economic Development Administration University Center serving Northeast Ohio and the state of Ohio by providing technical assistance, applied research, and public policy recommendations. The Center works with economic development organizations, state and local governments, and businesses to improve Ohio’s competitive advantage and help in the regional transformation to a knowledge-based economy.

In June 2020, the Center hosted the 2020 Chicago Regional EDA University Center Showcase. The recorded webinar videos are still available on demand.
