Mark Guizlo is a professor of Geography and Geospatial Technology at Lakeland Community College in Lake County. Mark has a master’s degree in Geography from Kansas State University and earned his GISP (GIS Professional Certification) from the GIS Certification Institute and his GeoEdC (Geospatial Educator Certificate) from the National Geospatial Technology Center for Excellence in 2023. 
 
Mark is an energetic speaker and teaches both “classic” geography courses and emerging GIS technologies. He specializes in bridging the gap between traditional higher education and workforce development and is particularly proud to have trained and worked with numerous GIS professionals in Northeast Ohio. Mark serves on the URISA (society for GIS professionals) Professional Education Committee and consults with higher education institutions who are looking for creative ways to adapt their geography and GIS education to better serve the workforce and students of all backgrounds. Lakeland’s Geography and Geospatial Technology department won the American Association of Geographers Program Excellence Award for Associates level programs in 2020.
