Reciprocal Inclusive Student Experience Program

Introducing the Reciprocal Inclusive Student Experience (RISE) Program at Cleveland State University

Unlock a Brighter Future with the RISE Program
The RISE Program, offered by Cleveland State University, is your gateway to a comprehensive transition experience designed for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This 2-4 year transition certificate program empowers students to continue their post-secondary education journey after high school.

Join a Nationwide Movement
Cleveland State University's RISE Program is part of a national movement, uniting with eight other programs in Ohio and over 300 programs across the nation. Together, we are committed to providing young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a meaningful transition to adulthood, offering an authentic community experience alongside their same-aged peers.

Your Path to Success
As a RISE Program participant, you'll immerse yourself in a transformative educational experience. You'll have the opportunity to take general education courses with your peers, ensuring an inclusive and enriching learning environment. Additionally, our core curriculum includes essential classes in career development, independent living, and self-determination and self-advocacy. Our partnership with the Employment Collaborative of Cuyahoga County ensures program participants will have greater access to employment opportunities in and around their communities.
