Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships provide academic and professional development opportunities to students, along with tuition support and a stipend. Assistantships are competitive and are awarded to qualified students who have been admitted to a graduate degree program in the Levin College. Candidates must have an undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify for and retain a graduate assistantship.

Full-time Graduate Assistants work 20 hours per week in their assignment and are required to be enrolled for at least 9 credit hours per semester. Additional employment is generally not permitted. Assistantships with tuition provide a full or partial tuition scholarship for 9 credit hours (at the Ohio-resident tuition rate) and a stipend of $4,200 per semester for master's degree-seeking students and $6,500 per semester for Ph.D. students. Part-time awards are generally stipend-only, with a 10-hour weekly assignment.  

Students seeking assistantships indicate their interest when submitting a graduate program application, and may contact their school or department to learn more about specific opportunities.  Current students and those recently admitted should contact their program director to discuss assistantship opportunities. Graduate assistantship opportunities outside the Levin College may be posted on CSU's Handshake platform and students are encouraged to seek and apply for positions across campus.
