Strategic Priorities 

Through 2030, the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education will pursue three strategic priorities, each supported by measurable objectives. These priorities encompass forward-looking initiatives that elevate our research, broaden student success, deepen community collaboration, and enhance the capacity of the college to lead meaningful change. Over the next five years, we will pursue:
 

Priority 1: Forward-Looking Academics 

• Update degree curriculum content: refresh degree programs and courses to keep pace with emerging policy, technology, student, and workforce needs and expand interdisciplinary offerings. This builds on our recently launched innovative programs.
• Expand NonDegree and Competency-Based Pathways: develop new credential and nondegree offerings, increase recognition of prior learning, life experience, and relevant work experience. Leverage current initiatives as models for future expansion, such as the AAPLE: Assessment and Accreditation of Prior Learning Experience and Ohio Certified Public Manager Pathway programs.
   

Priority 2: Community Partnerships and Alumni Engagement 

• Elevate alumni engagement: deepen and sustain alumni engagement on campus and in communities. Our alumni are the heart of Levin College, shaping Cleveland and making it stronger every day. As we launch the next 50 years, we will thrive with their partnership and leadership by our side.
• Unify tracking and outreach: develop shared systems to align and support alumni/community efforts across units.
• Convene and Showcase Impact to Raise Visibility and Momentum: highlight alumni and partner impact through measurement, convenings, and storytelling. 
   

Priority 3: Organizational Culture and Support 

• Demonstrate shared college values by showcasing internal initiatives and ideas: ensure consistent visibility across faculty, staff, students, and external constituents. Leverage social media, Levin Leads, and Cleveland Conversations to connect audiences and share what makes Levin College distinctive and impactful.
• Foster faculty and staff well-being and sense of community: providing support and professional growth through recognition, development, and mentoring.
• Strengthen communication and transparency: deepen collaboration through enhanced communication processes.
