Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (CCBOE) needs to hire 110 individuals to work as Election Night Ballot Box Openers for the August 8th Special Election for $20 per hour | 4 hours of work. This is a great opportunity for CSU students to see democracy in action. It is a behind the scenes look at the election process! It is a great way for students to be civically engaged, earn some extra money while building their resume, networking, and representing Cleveland State University.
Students will need a social security number to participate (for payroll purposes), be over 18, and cannot be a convicted felon.

Summer Application for Petition Verification Opportunities
Looking for something to do for a couple weeks this summer? Did you know, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (CCBOE) is now paying their temporary staff $15 an hour, and offers free parking?
To work as a temporary employee for the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections:
- You must be able to work our core hours of 8:30 am through 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday;
- You must be registered to vote;
- You cannot be running as a candidate for the election in which you are working.
- Please Note: Title 35 of the Ohio Revised Code prohibits anyone convicted of a felony to serve as an election officer
This assignment is expected to start the second week of July and last roughly two weeks. The hours are typically 8:30am-4:30pm (with an unpaid 1 hour lunch), *note that hours may vary depending on the need of the department.

Election Day Workers
Ever wonder what it would be like to help conduct an election? People are needed on Election Day to help staff the polls, transport ballots and materials, and maintain political balance. Be a part of history, support democracy, and have fun by becoming an Election Day Worker.
Starting pay for Precinct Election Officials is $220. Precinct Election Officials are required to work from 6:00 pm until approximately 8:00 pm the Monday night before Election Day, and from 5:30 a.m. until the Polling Location has completely shut down on Election Day (approximately 8:30 p.m.)

Requirements:
- You must be a registered voter in Cuyahoga County.
- You must never have been convicted of a felony.
- You cannot be a candidate for an office or a position and serve as an election official in any precinct where your name appears on the ballot.

- Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident (Authorization to work in the U.S. is not sufficient. Those with DACA status unfortunately are not eligible at this time).
- Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
- Have served no more than three terms in an AmericCorps state or national program.
- Agree to complete a background check.
