Meet CPL America Reads Tutor, Kendall Braun

I really love working with the CSU's Office of Civic Engagement because they work with your class schedule and my being a tutor gets you more involved with campus life. I wanted to work as a CPL America Reads tutor because I tutored in high school and loved how I was able to help people. I had such fond memories of tutoring and was grateful for the opportunity to continue doing that through this program at CSU.

I am gaining experience working with all different types of students. I think students are benefiting from working with me because I adapt my tutoring style to cater to their learning needs. 

This job has taught me a lot about how to work with all ages and styles of learners. While I am one of three remote tutors for the Cleveland Public Library in this program, this job still helps me feel connected with the Cleveland community as I meet new students and get to know the regular students who attend the tutoring sessions.
