Meet Justin Samsa

Justin Samsa is a Freshman History Major who also tutors for the OCE at the Cleveland Public Library. He is a Dungeons and Dragons Club member as well as a brother in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Justin actively follows local politics and volunteers his time to many causes ranging from park clean-ups to events for raising awareness.

Justin became an OCE Campus Vote Project (CVP) Democracy Fellow to help dispel the myth that your vote doesn't matter. His response to that myth is to tell people, "That way of thinking is exactly how unpopular candidates win elections, by preying on those who feel that no matter what they try, they will never have a voice." He also recommends staying civically engaged every year, not just Presidential Election years, by attending city council meetings, seeking out coverage in your local newspaper, and staying in contact with local officials so you can ask them questions about the governance of your community.
