Requirements to apply for project ELEVATE scholarship for DREAM program

DREAM is a 2-year online master's program that gives you initial licensure in p-5, early childhood intervention specialist and a TESOL endorsement (66 credits).

• Work for CMSD as an instructional employee.
• Have a bachelor's degree.
• Have recommendation and nomination from the CMSD Multilingual Multicultural Education Department.
• Willing to move grade levels as needed to fulfill requirements for practicum applications and courses.
• Willing to use current job as a place for practicum applications and courses such as rotations and internships.
• There will be 2.5 cohorts of DREAM endorsement scholarships.
• DREAM is 66 credits:
  • Year 1: 36 credits covered in Spring, Fall, Summer; 27 credits covered by the scholarship.
  • Year 2: 30 credits covered in Spring, Fall, Summer; no scholarship.
• The state of Ohio requires teacher candidates to have finished an approved teacher preparation program (such as DREAM) and to pass professional state exams (OAEs) in order to have their licensures approved by the state.
• Students might be required to purchase a Taskstream account to submit select course assignments. This is a requirement for accreditation. 

Scholarship application should include:

• Resume/CV - please include information about your current placement within CMSD.
• CSU application started (a screenshot).
• Name of the person from CMSD Multilingual Multicultural Education Department who is nominating you.
• A one-page statement that talks about your dedication EL dedication in CMSD.

Next steps:

• Send all application materials to e.andrei@csuohio.edu.
• If qualified, you will be asked to do an interview.
• You need to apply to CSU and get admitted in the DREAM program in order to get the scholarship.
• Scholarship will cover part of the tuition – see below.
• Student is responsible for textbooks and student fees.

DREAM Cohort 4 Schedule
