Position: Urban Green - Forestry Young Adult Crew
Company/Organization: Student Conservation Association (SCA)

SCA's Cleveland Urban Forestry Team will advance environmental justice by maintaining Cleveland's urban forest in low-canopy neighborhoods. The team will work to complete priority tree care projects in partnership with SCA partner organizations. In addition, the crew will engage with the local community by organizing and leading volunteer community tree care projects, sharing information about the benefits trees provide, and related community engagement projects.  

The team will be responsible for a variety of urban forestry project work, including the maintenance and installation of up to 500 trees. Each team member will aid in the ongoing maintenance of newly planted trees and care for previously planted trees from past seasons. Maintenance includes mulching, watering, pruning, staking, fencing, inspecting, and tracking.

Position: Urban Green - Cleveland Metroparks Trail Corps
Company/Organization: Student Conservation Association (SCA)

SCA's Metroparks Trail Corps is a team-based program designed to introduce crewmembers to a variety of trail maintenance and trailbuilding projects, and practice the interpersonal skills required in a team environment. Teams engage in project work focused on extending and maintaining an extensive network of trails in parks near Cleveland, working with trailbuilders and land managers from Cleveland Metroparks, one of the nation's most visited parks. 

Crews will begin their program with a field-based training program close to their project sites. Guided by an experienced Project Leader, Corps Members will learn and practice hard and soft skills that are essential for a successful trail project. 

After training, the Trail Corps team will work on a variety of projects. Trail projects generally include working with hand tools and small equipment. Trails within the Cleveland Metroparks see hundreds of visitors each week, and crews should be prepared for a wide variety of projects to build and maintain sustainable trails given that unusually high intensity of use. 

Fieldwork is physically and mentally demanding. This crew is based in the frontcountry and will generally have access to all the amenities of home, but the season may include 1-2 camping "hitches" with local partners. Access to amenities during hitches may be limited. 

Crew will consist of 4 young adult members (18 years of age or older) and 1 Project Leader. Members meet at a centralized pick-up and drop-off location and are transported to their work site each day by the Project Leader.

Position: Senior Communications and Engagement Specialist

The Community Police Commission is a 13 member, diverse board created by voters in 2021 and is responsible for Civilian Oversight of the Cleveland Division of Police.
