CIPTT is a 501 (c)3 public charity that owns and runs an intergenerational garden at E. 39th street and Community College Ave. E. 39th Community Garden grows and distributes free of charge, produce and herbs that help residents manage chronic illness. Position: Governmental Affairs Internship

Position: Youth Activism Remote Internship

Position: Service Management Intern

Position: Sustainability & Special Projects Paraprofessional Internship
Company/Organization: Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD)

Summary:

The Sustainability & Special Projects Paraprofessional Intern’s primary responsibility will be to support staff in meeting sustainability plan goals. The 2024 sustainability plan was created to drive the Sewer District’s sustainability efforts as we build on our successes and continue expanding efforts. The intern will gain exposure and assist on a variety of topics from investigating grant opportunities, conducting a tree inventory, compiling information to reuse furniture, and developing outreach materials for our annual Clean Water Fest.

The intern will help to create a furniture reuse tracking tool for surplus Sewer District furniture, to prevent valuable items from going to the landfill and to save money on purchasing and disposal of furniture. They will also continue the work of previous interns on the tree inventory to better understand tree health, maintenance needs and opportunities for planting. The tree inventory will primarily consist of field surveys and data collection utilizing geographic information system (GIS) software.

Position: GIS Paraprofessional Intern

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and update impervious area datasets to support stormwater billing, performing QA/QC and data research using County Parcel Auditor sites and Billing Agent systems; document progress through maps, data, and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Community Discharge Permit Program Specialist to fulfill OUPS ticket requests by locating sites, creating polygons in ArcGIS Online, attributing data, organizing files, and sending drawings within two business days.
  • Process approximately seven OUPS tickets per week, averaging 20 minutes per request, and ensure timely and accurate documentation updates.
  • Support GIS administration by creating and maintaining web maps, applications, scripts, and datasets to meet District data collection and maintenance needs.
  • Archive completed project datasets from ArcGIS Online, documenting processes and updating metadata as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist with District data and program needs.

Position: Crime Strategies Unit Intern for Spring 2025

Interns will work physically in the office (no remote option) to support the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Crime Strategies Unit. Projects may include supporting the prosecutor’s security map app program, the “Daily Incidents Analysis Report,” and acting as intelligence support for gang and serial offense cases.

This is an unclassified temporary position. You must be able to commit to a minimum of a 10/12-week assignment with an option to extend the assignment (120 days maximum) at the discretion of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor. This internship program provides for a time-limited role at the Prosecutor’s Office and does not express nor imply guaranteed future employment beyond the assignment period.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the prosecutor’s office to develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement partners as well as community stakeholders; 
  • Assist with data extraction from multiple police records management systems; 
  • Read and synthesize police reports to learn about violence occurring in different police jurisdictions; 
  • Enter data into CCPO violent crime database; 
  • Help to identify possible trends, patterns, and crime series in our database; 
  • Clean and manage the data that are stored in violent crime database; 
  • Assist with criminal history details of potential prolific offenders that have been identified by detective and prosecutors; 
  • Create maps related to individual cases being handled by the Crime Strategies Unit; 
  • Assist with data collection, cleaning, and entry into the CCPO Security Camera Database; 
  • Assist in analyzing jail calls, social media postings and phone records; 
  • Assist in making connections between seemingly unrelated shootings and crimes.

This is a half hour program where the host interviews experts on a variety of topics of interest to the greater Cleveland area. We have recorded over a dozen programs to date, with guests including CSU President Laura Bloomberg, Tri-C President Michael Baston, Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, MetroParks CEO Brian Zimmerman, and numerous CSU faculty.

Student interns will have the opportunity to complete a variety of tasks such as:

  • Setting up and running cameras and production equipment for live Cleveland Conversations
  • Supporting program preparation through research and creation of interview guides
  • Creating clips for use to promote our program on Instagram and other social media
  • Helping with developing and enacting social media strategies for distribution of the program
  • Tracking media analytics of viewership
  • Getting practice interviewing persons on camera

We are seeking an energetic, responsible, creative intern to assist our Development and Grant Manager. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how Merrick House’s Development Department runs and will gain hands-on experience operating the Development department. Currently, this internship funding is not compensated.
