Ohio Magazine continuously seeks editorial interns to assist with the digital and print sides of our magazine. We are looking for students who are seeking experience in reporting and writing stories as well as contributing to our social media channels.

Ideal candidates are entering their junior or senior year and are journalism or English majors; recent grads are welcome to apply.

Intern duties include fact-checking, researching stories and listings, writing short articles for our magazine and website and compiling some of our special editorial sections. There are also opportunities to contribute to our website and social media channels. Recognition is given in the magazine and online for a job well done.

Our interns are highly valued and are integrated into the editorial team and play a contributing role in our magazine’s content. Interns are given plenty of opportunity for professional development.

Position: 2025-2026 Canton Youth Symphonies Assistant
Company/Organization: Canton Symphony Orchestra

The CSO is seeking a Canton Youth Symphonies Assistant who is looking for part-time entry-level work and eager to learn more about nonprofit arts administration, with a focus on education and youth orchestra management. 

The CYS Assistant helps with the management of the Canton Youth Symphonies program by assisting during rehearsals, professional development events, and other student events. Attendance is required at CYS rehearsals; Mondays, 5-8:30pm and Tuesdays, 5:30-8:30pm, as well as CYS concerts. Other hours may be asked as needed and available. The CYS Assistant will receive mentorship throughout the semester/year, with opportunities to contribute ideas, manage real projects, and gain valuable insight into the operations of a nonprofit performing arts organization. Though mentorship and training will be provided, an ability to efficiently work independently is necessary.

Position: Community Engagement & Education Specialist Intern
Company/Organization: Canton Symphony Orchestra

  • Assists with implementation and creation of educational and community programs.
  • Will work with the Director of Education and Community Engagement to execute programming for the 2025-2026 season, plan for the 2026-2027 season and create new ideas for the education and community engagement department.
  • Primarily remote internship with possibility for in-person experience and some in-person requirements. Ideal for students. 5-15 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

The CSO is seeking a motivated and creative intern who is eager to learn more about nonprofit arts administration, with a focus on marketing, communications, and fundraising. This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional arts organization while allowing the intern to develop their voice, vision, and confidence as a communicator and arts advocate.

Interns will receive mentorship throughout the semester, with opportunities to contribute ideas, manage real projects, and gain valuable insight into the operations of a nonprofit performing arts organization.
