Final Year Orientation

Intern Orientations

December 11, 2025: 10am-12pm

Spring 2026 Intern Orientation is Mandatory for the following students: This includes Interns in Student Teaching, Internship 2 and Apprentice Teaching 2.  This does not include spring 2026 SLPs, Internship 1, Apprentice Teaching 1, or Practicum Interns.  This orientation will be on ZOOM and details will be sent closer to December. This orientation will cover final semester expectations including edTPA.  

January 8, 2026: 12:30pm-4pm

Intern Orientation (Julka Hall) will be held from 12:30pm - 4pm: This orientation includes all Internship 1, Apprentice Teaching 1, Practicum, Music, Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) and Intern 2s that did not attend fall orientation. This orientation will cover policies, procedures, and expectations.  

Child Abuse Recognition Training (Julka Hall) will be held from 2pm-4pm. If you have not taken Child Abuse Recognition Training in the past 3 years, you must complete the training at Orientation from 2-4pm.  *Please note: if you do not attend Child Abuse training, you will have to complete it at your own cost.   

Parking: If you do not have a parking pass, you can find parking options on the CSU Parking and Transportation Services website or check out the daily parking permit option HERE

Materials: We recommend bringing a laptop, writing utensil, paper, and a water bottle

MAKE-UP ORIENTATION: January 12, 2026 (Time: TBD).

If you are unable to attend Intern Orientation, please contact OFS as soon as possible.  You are not able to go into the field until you complete orientation.  Child Abuse Recognition Training is not offered at the make-up session.  If you have not completed the training in the past 3 years, you will have to complete it at your own cost before your first day in the field.  Reach out to OFS for approved Child Abuse Recognition Trainings.

Preparing for Spring 2026: 

• Please contact your mentor teacher by e-mail to discuss plans for your start in the classroom. The semester begins on January 12, 2026. If you choose to start early with your mentor, please remember you must attend the January 8th Intern Orientation (Intern 1s and SLPs only).
• Anthology: Starting in the fall 2025 semester, OFS will be implementing Anthology Portfolio. This is replacing Tasktream. This does not apply to SLP students. Visit our Anthology Portfolio information website for help.

• CSU ID: If you currently do not have a CSU ID, please contact the VIKING CARD OFFICE.  You must have a CSU ID for your Field Placement and to access the Computer Lab (printer available) in Julka Hall (Room 116).
