Intercession and Coaching Process

The intercession process is followed by the Office of Field Services when an intern, mentor, supervisor, or faculty member raises a concern in the field. These concerns may be pedagogical (involving gaps in content knowledge or necessary skills as an educator) or may be dispositional (involving professionalism and conduct) in nature. The intention of the intercession process is to work as a team to identify need and create necessary scaffolding to support interns in a successful completion of their experience. If the ultimate evidence leads to withdraw or removal from the experience, OFS will support the intern in the next steps.
