Professional Development Opportunities

Professional Development is an opportunity for teachers to learn and grow in their field.

Interns must participate in at least one professional development opportunity in both their practicum and student teaching semesters (e.g. workshops, seminars, attending a professional conference, joining a professional organization). In order to exceed expectations (3 points), Iinterns must attend, provide evidence of an increased understanding and reflects on your own professional practice.

How to meet the Professional Development Standard on Row N of your CPAST Form:

  1. Free Professional Learning for Ohio Educators.  The Ohio Leadership Advisory Council (OLAC) believes leadership is a shared responsibility no matter what role you play in education. The OLAC provides free resources to help you become a more effective leader.
  2. 3rd Annual AI Symposium at CSU - April 24, 2026: The Cleveland State University AI Symposium is a one-day event designed to bring together educators, researchers, students, and campus partners to explore how artificial intelligence is being integrated into teaching, learning, and professional practice.
  3. PBS Learning Media - PBS LearningMedia offers a suite of free resources that are designed to help educators improve their skills and broaden their expertise. By offering real life scenarios, professional development content allows educators to learn proven techniques and transfer that knowledge to their own classroom environment.
