Spring 2024 Intern & SUPERVISOR ORIENTATION

In-Person Intern ORIENTATION (MANDATORY - ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN)

10:00am - 12:45pm: Orientation will be held in the Student Center Ballroom on the 3rd Floor.  An agenda and student packet will be emailed prior to the event.

In-Person CHILD ABUSE RECOGNITION TRAINING (MANDATORY - ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN) 

If you have not taken Child Abuse Recognition Training in the past 3 years, you must complete the training on January 11, 2024 from 2-4pm.  *Please note: if you do not attend Child Abuse training, you will have to complete it at your own cost.   

2:00pm - 4:00pm: Child Abuse Recognition Training (Berkman Hall 201)

A student packet will be emailed prior to the event. 

MAKE-UP ORIENTATION: January 16, 2024 at 3pm.

If you are unable to attend Student/Supervisor Orientation, please contact OFS as soon as possible.  You are not able to go into the field until you complete orientation.  If you have not taken Child Abuse Recognition Training in the past 3 years, you must complete the training on January 16, 2024 at 3pm.  *Please note: if you do not attend January 11, 2024, Child Abuse training, you will have to complete it at your own cost.  Click for approved Child Abuse Recognition Trainings (coming soon).

PREPARING FOR Spring 2024: 

  • Please contact your mentor teacher by e-mail to discuss plans for your return this spring. The semester begins on January 16, 2024.  If you choose to start early with your mentor, then please record your hours accordingly on the attendance form.   
  • FBI & BCI need  to be updated on a yearly basis  and need to be valid throughout the experience.  Results can take time to come back.  You cannot be in the field with expired documents. Please submit updated documents to us before your old documents expire.  Please contact ESSC to schedule an appointment.  
  • Taskstream: Sign into Taskstream and self-enroll in the correct template (This does not apply to SPEECH students).  Instructions can be found HERE.
